Breaking Fall

“Speak to us about why we fall,”
say the weary souls of mankind:
You fall because of the bumps and pits
on the road of life are altars of destiny
that all knees must bow in honor to
before stepping into their destiny.
Life allows no one to take uninterrupted steps
into his or her destiny,
so while walking on the road of life
be prepared to break your fall
somewhere in between every few hundred miles.
For those who mastered the walk of life
are not those who have never fell
but those who have learned to break their fall.
The world would remain seated in humbleness if asked
“may he who has never fallen please stand up?”
Even if you should pave the road of life with personal desires
to smooth it over in your favor,
life will use your own desires to trip you into a fall;
for he who has never fallen as yet to learn how to walk.
Yet some say that their feet have mastered the road of life
like the majestic wings of the bald eagle have mastered
the puzzling twists and turns of the winds,
but even the bald eagle at times have being seen
stumbling along the road of life with broken wings.
While others will say to you that your bruises
from life’s fall are cursed by the gods in the heavens.
But I say to you that man falling on the road of life is as natural
as leaves falling in the Amazon forest
or when autumn greets the maple trees;
and the bruises from life’s fall are birthmarks of a new beginning.
So when you find yourself in the valley of life’s lows,
let not the clouds of social shame which hoover above
hold back your tears from watering its soil,
for the seeds of life’s sweetest fruits are buried
in the depth of its lows.
