Faces

The truth becomes an orphan
the moment the child becomes a man,
for childhood is the orphanage where
the man abandoned his truth to
enter the masked world of adulthood.
The man is an overgrown child,
nurse by the opinions of others.
Like the moon, the man has many faces
with a hidden side that refused to face the sun.
But childhood is the mask-less state of man
where the truth lies in the nude
and allow the sun to give it a tan.
Adulthood is a euphemism for mask gathering,
where grownups hide behind lies
while complimenting and criticizing
the masks that they love to wear.
Had the man come before the child,
the sun would have never got the chance
to kiss the real face of the man.
